  • What types of events can I book at this property?
Basecamp is designed to be a place where all people feel welcome. As a queer owned and operated company we understand how important it is to feel safe and affirmed. We want you to feel the same. Our property was purchased with the intent of sharing this incredible space with people who are happy with semi-rustic accommodations and believe in the power of nature and the belief that we can grow from our surroundings. We think our space works great for these types of events/retreats: Intimate weddings Yoga retreats Forest Bathing Family reunions Writing Retreats Private parties Corporate retreats Nonprofit retreats Teen programs Beer and wine tastings Sugar tapping lessons Survival skills trainings Cross country skiing Ski weekends for friends and family (we are 25 minutes from Mt. Snow and Berkshire East) Snow shoeing Ice skating River swimming Any other idea you want to come to us with!
  • What's the difference between your backcountry and frontcountry events?
Backcountry events with The Venture Out Project are events (typically backpacking, canoe camping, and white water rafting) that take place in wilderness settings. Backcountry participants gather at BCBF the night before their adventure to camp in our meadows and ensure they have the right outdoor equipment to be comfortable during their trip. The majority of their time is spent in the mountains, away from BCBF. Frontcountry events - a new project from The Venture Out Project - take place solely at BCBF and are a great option for folks who prefer warm beds, stocked kitchens, and relative closeness to flushable toilets. Our frontcountry events focus on community and skill-building outside of backcountry settings.
  • How many people does your property accommodate?
We have heated rooms for 30 people and 12 campsites. Our capacity for staying overnight at the property is 60. If you require more guests during the day, there are options to bring in portable toilet facilities.
  • Do you allow pets on the property?
We love pets! Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate them on the property. You may sometimes see a very small, hypo-allergenic dog that the manager of the property has (his name is Bowie!), but we do not allow other animals.
  • How large is your property?
You will have access to 40 acres during your stay. That includes hiking trails and river access. In the winter, we will have a cross country ski trail around the property and a pond for ice skating, weather permitting.
  • Do you allow alcohol on the premises?
We have a liquor license and are required by law to be the only ones serving alcohol. You may not bring your own, but you are welcome to buy beer, wine and basic mixed drinks from us while you stay. If you are interested in pre-purchasing for your guests, just let us know!
  • Can we bring our own food/use your kitchen?
Yes. You can bring your own food and have use of our kitchen for a small fee. Otherwise, you can hire us to do the cooking for you, or bring in your own caterer/cook.
  • Do you serve coffee/breakfast?
We will have coffee and tea service available every morning starting at 6:30am. If you would like a continental breakfast (fruit/yogurt/toast/hard boiled eggs), we can provide that as well for an additional cost per person. If you are looking to do a hot breakfast, we can suggest local caterers who can provide that service.
  • Do you have cooks/caterers on site?
There are options to hire us to do the cooking for you for an additional fee. You are also welcome to bring your own licensed caterer into the facility, or to do your own cooking for an additional kitchen fee.
  • When is check-in/check out time?
Check in is at 1:00pm and check out is at 11:00am.
  • What is the cost of staying at Basecamp at Beaver Falls?
It depends! We work with nonprofits, for profits, individual groups and anyone else that is interested in using the entire property at once. We are happy to create a package that works for you. The average cost is $150-$250/night per person for the indoor accommodations.
  • Do we have to bring our own sheets and towels?
No! We provide linens, towels and blankets. You need to bring your own beach/swim towels and we ask that you do not take the towels out of your room except to shower.
  • What is included in the package?
Heated rooms for 22 people and campsites for 12 groups Use of our party barn that includes a pool table, ping pong table, and foosball 3 hole golf range Pond that is swimmable in warm weather and skatable in cold weather River access with a private beach that is less than a five minute walk from the property Lawn games (bocci, badminton, cornhole, etc) Outdoor wood fired sauna Outdoor 8 person hot tub (coming March, 2022) Indoor dining room and lounge areas Outdoor grill upon request Access to easy hiking trails within the property Access to a large fire pit with dry logs and lighters (our woods have lots of kindling!)
  • What do I need to bring?
We provide linens, blankets and towels for showers. You should bring toiletries, towels for swimming/sauna use, cross country skis and/or ice skates in the winter and an appreciation for the beauty of Vermont!
  • Is there Wi-Fi?
Sometimes! We are in the mountains so there are frequent outages. We hope that our property is a place to come and relax and be a part of nature. AT&T currently works the best in Halifax, VT.
  • Is your property wheelchair accessible?
Parts of the property are wheelchair accessible. Entrances to various buildings would need assistance. There is a full bathroom that is ADA compliant and two bedrooms that are accessible with a ramp (but would require assistance to keep the door fully open). For more information, please contact us directly and we will be happy to talk through options.
  • How do I book the property?
Call us at 718-974-7902, email us at sj@basecampbeaverfalls.com or fill out the contact form here.
  • Am I allowed to come visit the property if I'm in the area?
We love visitors! We just want to know in advance you are coming in case we have guests on the property or are unable to greet you. Feel free to send us an email and let us know when you would like to stop by.
