What's the difference between our backcountry and frontcountry events?

​

Backcountry events with The Venture Out Project are events (typically backpacking, canoe camping, and white water rafting) that take place in wilderness settings. Backcountry participants gather at BCBF the night before their adventure to camp in our meadows and ensure they have the right outdoor equipment to be comfortable during their trip. The majority of their time is spent in the mountains, away from BCBF. 

 

Frontcountry events - a new project from The Venture Out Project - take place solely at BCBF and are a great option for folks who prefer warm beds, stocked kitchens, and relative closeness to flushable toilets. Our frontcountry events focus on community and skill-building outside of backcountry settings.
