Although BCBF operates primarily as The Venture Out Project's basecamp, there's so much more the property has to offer.
Tucked away behind tall eastern white pines, the grounds at Basecamp hosts both constructed amenities and natural ones.
the pond.
The changing seasons of the Vermont landscape transform our beautifully kept pond from a refreshing summer swimming oasis to a slippery skating surface, perfect for folks of every age.
the full kitchen.
We've retained the at-home-kitchen feel without compromising purpose. Whether you're cooking for your family or hiring a chef to cater your event, our kitchen is stocked with modern and professional equipment, ready to be used with love.
the river beach.
Carved out by a hurricane in 2009 and less than a five-minute walk from the Main House, we're proud to maintain the beachfront for all to enjoy. The river is shallow - which means it retains the sun's warmth (a rarity in New England!) and is the perfect depth for little ones.
the 3 hole golf range.
Our largest plot of mowed land is home to our small golf course - great for first-timers and the seasoned putter.
the party barn.
Only a few steps from the Main House and outfitted with two sleeping quarters, a pool table, ping-pong table, foosball, living area, music speakers, woodstove, and a small bar, it's the perfect space to warm up and chill out after a day of play.

the wood-fired sauna.
A favorite of our staff, the 8-person wood-fired sauna proves again and again to be a haven in the cooler months. With its stunning exterior and proximity to the pond for a cooling dip, it's sure to be a focal point of your stay.
indoor and outdoor dining.
Whether you prefer picnics near the pond or keeping cozy inside, it's all possible for you here at Basecamp. Besides the Adirondack chairs grouped around the premises (hors d'oeuvres with a view, anyone?), we also offer more formal seating in the parlor and back patio of the Main House.

outdoor bar and grill, firepit.
Upon request, you'll have free use of our outdoor bar and grill area, conveniently located near the group firepit and sauna.
Our firepit features seating made by our friends at High Five Adventure Learning Center, and our woods is full of kindling. Bring some marshmallows, it's always s'more season at Basecamp!
the gym access.
Our fully equipped weight room, complete with rowing machine and yoga/stretching area, can be found in our beloved heated yurt tucked away from the main drive.
the hiking, snowshoe, and Nordic ski trails.
Simple trails for easy access. Maintained frequently, our trails will have you following alongside the lively river from start to finish. Keep an eye out for animal tracks! In the wintertime, we'll groom the trails to make them ideal for Nordic Skiing and snowshoe activities (we are, in fact, a Venture Out Project!).
